Jaime Dias da Silva
Early 70's
Jaime Dias da Silva, Grupo TPB founder, began out his career in the application of concrete floors in France, the most technologically developed country in Europe at the time, in the building sector. The technical support provided by a French topographer and his interest in this area led the young man, who was just 20 years old, to adquire technical knowledge and to actively follow the evolution of the sector.
Return to Portugal
On his return to Portugal , Jaime Dias da Silva became one of the pioneers in the paving industry, putting into practice the technical knowledges acquired in France and starting to form future pavers.
In this decade, he made industrial paving in grand works foreign, especially in the Maghreb countries.
TPB
TPB – Tecno Pavimentos e Betonilhas, Lda was founded in 1989, and this is through this company that the history of the Grupo TPB can be delineated. Later, it reinforced structures, redefined strategies and, in 2002, was renamed TPB – Tecnologia em Pavimentos e Construção, SA.
Internationalization
The first big step in TPB's internationalization is taken to Spain, with the establishment of SOLEI – Tecnología en Pavimentos.
JRP
With TPB customers increasing significantly and in response to a latent need in the construction sector, Grupo TPB invests in the manufacture and sale of construction products and creates JRP - Produtos e Revestimentos, currently specialized in the production of dry-shake hardeners and metal formwork for expansion and construction joints.
JRP Maroc and INDUFLOOR
Grupo TPB internationalization process continues with the creation of JRP Maroc - Technologie des Sols en Béton, company dedicated to the design, sale and application of concrete floors in Morocco.
Grupo TPB reaffirms its position in the market and constitutes INDUFLOOR – Industrial Floor Sistems and starts offering integral solutions for concrete floors.
